Small & Local
Businesses
I dream of the realization of the unity of Africa, whereby its leaders combine in their efforts to solve the problems of this continent. I dream of our vast deserts, of our forests, of all our great wildernesses.

The Social Hack is a weekend hackathon "event", held by a group of people, combining their skills and expertise to drive social change.
Change is possible when unity is present.
The aim of the Social Hack is to establish a fun getaway weekend experience where creatives co-create to support local entrepreneurs and businesses.Â
The Social Hack affords creatives the opportunity to combine their skills and expertise to assist and invest in small businesses in the local communities and townships, by providing a full Digital Marketing service to the value of R50 000 (per business) over a period of a weekend.
STEP 1
Find a suitable getaway venue
Find a suitable venue to host the hackathon and house a team of creatives for a period of 3 days. The team of creatives will spend the weekend together, hacking and investing in the nominated businesses.
STEP 2
Build the dream team
Nothing great is accomplished alone. Build the team based on the required skillsets needed for the weekend. These skillsets will consist of; a web designer, graphic designer, content creator, social media manager and photographer.
STEP 3
Get hacking!
Select the nominated businesses through the nomination process. Do a consultation with each business prior to the weekend. Prepare, plan, go away and spend the weekend problem-solving.
Operational
Business
The business should not be in ideation phase.
Our purpose is it support and boost a functional business more than getting a new business idea off the ground.
Early Stage
Business
The business should be less than 5 years old.
The aim is to accelerate a business that has most likely been struggling to get traction over the last few years.
Poor Online
Presence
Should ideally lack a strong online presence.
The aim is to fully digitise the business by strengthening its online presence with work to the value of R50 000.
